Our Team

Hi, I'm Kelly Wallis (Studio Owner)
Most people call me Kell
Any pets?
A very cheeky Cocker Spaniel called Mo (Mo Diggity).
Mo loves to make the occasional visit out to the studio to share a little bit of love with everyone.
Where you'll find me when I'm not in the studio?
The beach or anywhere near the water!
A little about me...
I was initially drawn to yoga many years ago as a way to connect within, help settle anxiety and to rid the tensions carried in my body from years of Hairdressing. Developing a keen eye and precision in the practice my then teacher convinced me to take on a mentorship with her. Since then my passion to learn and share ways to find ease in our bodies and mind has grown and evolved. With well over a decade of experience in teaching I still have a thirst to continue to learn more.
Some of my studies have included- Level 1 & 2 Yoga Teacher Training, Applied Anatomy for yoga asana, Restorative Yoga Teacher Training, Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training, Kids Yoga Teacher Training, Cert IV Massage Therapy, Women's Circle Facilitator Training, Mat and Reformer Pilates Teacher Training.
What you will get out of my class?
I will be your biggest cheerleader, encouraging and supporting you through a fun yet challenging practice designed around nourishing mind and full body. Expect detailed and personalised instruction with lots of variations so you can get the most from your practice. Don't let the (bad) corny jokes fool you, I take what the practices of yoga and pilates offer seriously and believe that our practices her at Shine can benefit all.
My aim is to create space for you to let go of judgement, to feel safe, supported, have fun & to thrive by nurturing body, mind & soul. To connect within, find your best self and...... SHINE!
Favourite Yoga or Pilates move?
Yoga would have to be Utthita Trikonasana (Triangle Pose), although I do love to play with handstands and arm balances too.
Reformer changes every week. I think every week we do something in class and I hear myself saying "guys, this is my favourite" lol. It's definitely not side lying legs though! ouch lol
Fun Fact...
I'll give you 2!
1. I do actually know my right & left, & I can count....... although my students may not agree lol
2. My husband and a few of our close friends have always called me Sunshine/Shine.
This is where our studio name came from. My dream is to support and encourage everyone who steps into our studio space to Shine and be their very best and unique version of themselves.

Hi, I'm Emily McMillan
Any pets?
Winston, our beautiful golden boy who has those puppy dog eyes that are impossible to say no to.
Where you'll find me when I'm not in the studio?
Your guess is as good as mine! I'm always up to something.
A little about me...
Always wanting to try yoga, I finally made it to a class and fell in love with the practice immediately and have now been practising regularly since 2017. Wanting to learn more, I completed a 200hr Hatha Yoga teacher training and since then have been teaching and sharing the practice of yoga. Yoga has also led me to Pilates, both matwork and reformer. Combined with a diploma in remedial massage, I have developed a wealth of knowledge of the body and how it moves. My passion is to share all that I have learnt so far, helping others to connect with their breath and body and to enjoy these practices and all they offer just as much as I do.

What you will get out of my class?
You will be guided through a balanced practice with variations and options for you to choose from so you can make the practice your own. A class with me is suited to both total beginners as well as those with years of experience. Offering encouragement and support, my hope is that you walk away feeling your best self, on all levels.

Favourite Yoga or Pilates move?
Oooh that's a tough one! I do love to have a play with arm balances in yoga just as much as the classic tree pose. As for pilates, I always look forward to legs in straps.
Fun Fact...
I love learning new skills and knowledge both on and off the mat! So expect your practice with me to be ever evolving
